Care Tips

Wool

Wool is a pure natural product. It regulates temperature, protects from humidity from the outside and absorbs it in the inside. To enjoy your unique item for a long time, a bit of care is necessary:

  • Do not wash wool too often -- wool has a high power of self cleaning, mostly a thorough airing is sufficient.
  • Wool does not tolerate alkaline cleaning agents, like contained in heavy duty detergent or soap. Therefore, always use a special wool detergent.
  • Like human hair, the fibre consists of a scaly layer of horn. These scales can get tangled and clogged when exposed to water. The result is the well-known "pilling".
  • Gentle hand washing or fine laundering as well as temperatures lower than 30°C prevent the pilling.
  • When using a washing machine, a maximum spin speed of 600 revolutions/minute must not be exceeded.
  • For drying, we recommend spreading your wool products flat or rolling them into a towel.
  • Creases are removed best with steam.

Cashmere

Cashmere wool is a particularly fine and soft fibre, and is considered as one of the most valuable natural textiles.

  • If you use a washing machine, we recommend to only filling the drum 1/3 and using a laundry bag. Only use mild detergents without bleaching agents, lightener or fabric softener.
  • Particularly gentle treatment is a hand wash with hair shampoo without re-fatting substance. Instead of fabric softener, add a little vinegar during the last rinsing process!

Mohair

Mohair wool is produced from the hair of the goat. This natural fibre is the specifically lightest textile fibre and thus very valuable.

  • When using a washing machine, we recommend only filling the drum 1/3 and to using a laundry bag. Only use mild detergents without bleaching agents, lightener or fabric softener.
  • Particularly gentle is a hand wash with hair shampoo without re-fatting substance. Instead of fabric softener, add a little vinegar during the last rinsing process!

Angora

Angora wool is obtained from angora rabbits, whose hair is hollow on the inside and hence it disposes of particularly well heat characteristics. By adding of portions of synthetic fibre the care characteristics and the durability are improved.

  • When using a washing machine, we recommend only filling the drum 1/3 and to using a laundry bag. Only use mild detergents without bleaching agents, lightener or fabric softener.

Spandex

gives permanently optimal fit and perfect hold.

Viscose

is a fibre of vegetable origin, and similar to cotton in its chemical composition. It improves the absorbency of the fibres and is very skin-friendly.

Polyester & Polyamide

are fully synthetic fibres, produced by melt spinning, guarantee high abrasion resistance and good dimensional stability.

The higher the portion of natural fibre of animal origin, the more gently the cleaning should be performed.
